Last year, we began our sweater knit-a-longs with a fantastic top-down sweater called the Liv Cardigan. It was a truly a fun knit and I was delighted to see all those finished cardigans. This April, we’ll start another fabulously simple and stylish top-down sweater called the Campside Cardi. This cardi is worked in simple top-down fashion in Stockinette stitch – and studded with easy eyelets on the body, making it a great simple introduction to lace and easy-peasy chart reading. In our first class, we’ll go through the discussion os ease and fit – and work our swatches together practicing the details of measuring gauge to ensure a good fit. Then, we’ll begin the top-down sweater shaping together and you’ll be on your way. Regrettably, the designer stops sizing the sweater at a 43″ bust – but, never fear, top-down sweaters are wonderfully easy to size and adjust fit – and I’ll be sure to include these added sizing instructions in our workshop.
Materials Required: 920 – 1475 yds of DK weight yarn. A sample will be knitted in Lana Grossa 365Cotone – other possibilities include Shalimar Breathless DK, Fibre Co Acadia, or Fyberspates Vivacious DK; appropriate sized needles, stitch markers, pattern, and notions kit.
