Map & Parking
Chesapeake City, MD is located along a working canal which splits the town in two. The north side of the canal is majority residential with Schaefer's Canal House being the only restaurant. The south side of the canal hosts the historic district with several restaurants, lodging and shops. From April-October there is a ferry service that you can use to travel either side. The historic canal bridge that connects both sides of town has a sidewalk for pedestrians to walk/bike across.
The map below details free/public parking areas on the south side of town. Parking areas are highlighted in blue shades. During large events the entire length of George street toward Rt. 213 is typically free to park. There is also overflow parking during very large events at the South Village Shopping Center (1/2 mi) and the ball fields (1/4 mi when permitted).
